Magazine Genre and Conventions Research Project

For nine decades, the Kiplinger organization has led the way in personal finance and business forecasting. Now  Kiplinger's Personal Finance  is among the Top Ten Most Trusted magazine brands, according to Affinity LLC's American Magazine Study. One of only 4 financial publications on the list, Kiplinger's is the only personal finance magazine to make the Top Ten. Other titles included  Harvard Business Review  and  Forbes . The target audience for Kiplinger would be middle aged individuals who are trying to figure out a way to invest and take of their money. ath purpose of their publication would be to inform those that there are countless possibilities when it comes to becoming wealthy and having a goo living, anybody can do it and if you do your life will be filled with reward. Kiplinger always challenges its reader to try out any technique to try to improve their finances.

Covers- The cover applies to those who want to have a firm control over their finances and which to be successful in the world of finance. My magazine will try to achieve the same goal as ill like my readers to be as successful as the reader who indulge themselves with Kiplinger Table of Contents-  The tabel of contents must contain some sort of picture which shows wealth in one way, shape of from. The picture must have individuals who are dressed accordingly whith nice fasion. The lettering and actual content has to be neat and orderly with headlibners that pop out at the audience. Dominant Spreads- The spreads must be filled with a prolific amount of information tj=hat introduces the subject well and explains it in a easy to understand format. not only that but the spreads must come accompanied with am illustration that makes understanding the material fun and easy to do. 

\ The spreads used in Kiplinger's magazines have very useful information that elaborates in great detail on how to manage and control your magazine while at the same time it shoes a very colorful and cartoon type of drawing which further helps reader understand how to manage their finances as well. By constantly changing the picture in each page to something more interesting or entertaining the Kiplinger magazine effectively maintains the attention of the reader and the pictures also serve to in having a way to express topics that are generally boring and makes them suddenly interesting and easy to understand. The Kiplinger magazine has a general style of how the magazine is designed and it all follows the same format. A white page, a large picture, and a sans serif font with the lettering. Comparing the table of contents  '' The table of contents of Kiplinger is designed in a creative way that shows an organized form of how a magazine should be organized. The Magazine I have chosen to focus on were the Kiplinger line of magazines. These magazine have a key focus on finance. They are almost like guidebooks on how and why one should save and invest their earnings, an aspect that is pivotal to ones adults life in the world of business. By just taking a look at the front cover of these three kiplinger magazines we can see the similarities in the conventions that were used to designed them. The Masthead for all three examples are generally the same. Big colorful letters are used to draw the audience in and makes it well known that it belongs to Kiplinger..
